It was a toss-up which one I posted. I didn't want to post both, for fear of revealing my obsession with defecation.

As much as your post did. You would like to think people will notice the difference and, even more laughably, care but I am here to tell they will not.
This has nothing to do with the mass production of fake music, plagiarized art, or the fake "intelligence" that people believe in, nor does it have anything to do with the goals of those who operate "AI".
Of course it does, it's the very heart of the issue. You obviously haven't noticed that there has been "mass production of fake music" for decades. Anyone who has ever been in a lift (elevator) can tell you that. Or listen to the backing music they use in TV advertisements that are almost, but not quite, familiar tunes. Why would anyone care if that industry was taken over by AI generated music? For that matter, why would anyone but Taylor Swift care if AI took over making Taylor Swift music? There is already so much shit music out in the world, I don't see how AI is going to make it noticeably worse.
Replacing humans in the marketplace of labor, art, ideas, and violence is an apocalyptic dead-end that doesnt require deep thought to consider
This has been going on since the beginning of civilisation. In a way, it's kind of the point of civilisation. You can't draw a line and say we can only go this far, no further. It can't work like that. You have to learn to live with it and, more importantly, to use it to your advantage.
all of this first requires the buy-in of people whose eyes can be dazzled by fake music and fake images and fake porn.
You mean just like Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber fans? They are out there and they are the overwhelming majority.
Those people will eat out of the palms of the "AI" operators hands', while the rest of the science-literate folks shout from the rooftops - as usual.
I think you mean "weak-minded, paranoid Luddites". You sound like Chicken Little.
Shortsighted, narrow-minded people really do rule the day, dont they. I mean its useful to the rich.
Yes, they do. How is that not the most obvious thing in the universe?

You are insufferable. Copycat, low effort musicianship is still musicianship. Formulaic songwriting is still musicianship. "AI" music isnt art nor musicianship, its generated 'content' and its shameful to try to call it anything else.

Fun fact, and one I learned the hard way 15 years ago when I ignorantly used it to attack people I thought just "didnt understand" technology. (Im a career net/sysadmin and lover of technology)

"The Luddites were members of a 19th-century movement of English textile workers who opposed the use of certain types of cost-saving machinery, and often destroyed the machines in clandestine raids. They protested against manufacturers who used machines in "a fraudulent and deceitful manner" to replace the skilled labour of workers and drive down wages by producing inferior goods.[1][2]"

This fact stung when I realized how ignorant I once was, but at least I was able to learn and grow. Many others, not so much.

Had a dream last night that I heard a Lou Reed song that I hadn't heard before.
I was thinking, this is good, why didn't he write that way more....
Then I woke up and realized, it was the AI of my dream......

Or it was Lou from beyond the grave......

Fun fact: A German TikToker made lots of fun AI music by feeding Suno with online conversations as lyrics.
One of them went quite viral with 1.4M views and 80K+ likes: https://www.tiktok.com/@chat.musik/vide ... 8363576608
Then a tv show created a cover of it without attributing him: https://www.tiktok.com/@chat.musik/vide ... 2634070304
He got a little upset about it, but learned that Suno's FAQ statement "You own the songs created by Suno" has no value because current copyright laws state that there's no copyright on AI created works.

I think this will devalue human musicians now that anyone can get a workable song in seconds by typing in one line.
The song "Frantz-Udio - neon pulse" sounds pretty good. Since it was
created by AI, and "quickly" at that, that's worrying and discouraging.
That would mean that in the future all good songs would come from AI.
And that the internet would be flooded with relatively good songs.

--- Mmmh ... three thoughts from me on this topic: :o

1. Only ruminated and rehashed

"AI-generated" means: pieced together from the vastness of the
internet. The AI looks for all possible puzzle pieces and set pieces -
and puts them back together again according to a learned algorithm
(neural network). In other words, the AI ultimately regurgitates what
has already been there. One could object here that every human
musician actually does this too.

2. Industrial production of music only via AI

A lot is changing for the music industry: Until now, the artist, a single
person, was the origin of the artistic and consequently also of the
business model. That is no longer the case: AI can do everything
better and cheaper. The live act or the dance performance is even
more interchangeable - and thus also devalued.

So the music industry will come to terms with AI and use it. But they
still need human figures and minds that they can present to the
masses. And that's what they will do. However, the human factor will
be even more interchangeable than it is now.

3. For the individual musician, NOTHING actually changes!

The truly creative musician has always worked on new ideas and
new songs in his LIVE environment or in his studio. Usually he could
not overcome the high hurdles to "big business": In the past, it was
the A&R people of the major companies, today it is Spotify & Co
who are the gatekeepers for fame and money. Overcoming this
hurdle is almost impossible - even if some musicians work in
constant hope of achieving these goals. With AI, these hurdles are
even higher. After all, why should managers of music companies or
labels still deal with often stubborn and difficult musicians when they
can create their hits at the push of a button?

Almost nothing changes for the musicians: They can continue to go
on live tours. In their studio, they will continue to compose and
produce the "great hit" for themselves and their friends.

The "big media world out there for the masses" was already
inaccessible to them in the past - and will continue to be so in
the future.
